Othera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a privately-held specialty pharmaceuticals company focused on the design and development of small molecule products for ophthalmology, oncology, and inflammatory diseases.

In ophthalmics, we are developing innovative eye drops, OT-551 and OT-730, to treat age-related diseases, including the leading causes of blindness and vision impairment. Othera is also engaged in the discovery and development of the orally-administered OT-300 series of compounds for cancer, thrombosis, and inflammatory diseases. Othera’s ophthalmic product candidates address large unmet medical needs that are expected to grow rapidly as the generation of baby boomers age. Othera is driving innovation with the development of an eye drop treatment for the dry form of AMD, which affects over 12 million Americans. Currently, no FDA-approved pharmaceutical treatment exists for dry AMD, which affects 85-90% of all people who suffer from AMD. According to the National Institutes of Health, the number of Americans suffering from AMD and glaucoma is expected to double over the next 10 years.

Othera’s OT-300 Series is a novel and diverse set of molecules with a similar mechanism of action to our lead ophthalmic product. Othera is designing and optimizing the OT-300 series for oral delivery to address severe medical conditions, including cancer, thrombosis, and inflammatory diseases. Among these compounds, Othera has identified OT-304 as a lead development candidate in the target indications.
